Victor Acheampong’s journey with Act-Clean began on the night shift at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. Starting as a night cleaner in one of London’s most demanding luxury environments, he quickly learned the standards, pace and precision required behind the scenes of a world-class hotel. From there, his progression was rapid from a cleaner in 2023 to Supervisor, to Site Manager and now this year to Operations Manager, overseeing multiple sites across London including Park Tower, Mandarin Oriental Knightsbridge, La Maison Ani, Dinings, St Ermin’s and The Lansdowne Club.
That experience at Mandarin Oriental didn’t just shape his early career, it laid the foundation for how he now leads across a portfolio of high-profile, high-expectation venues. For Victor, his sense of satisfaction stems from carrying those standards forward, through people, trust and pride in service.

From first shift to leadership
Victor began his journey with Act-Clean in 2023 as a night cleaner. He still remembers arriving at the office to register, then, having completed online training modules and heading to his first night shift. Within months, his natural ability to organise and steady those around him became apparent.. He became a supervisor in February 2025, then Site Manager at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, before his recent promotion to Operations Manager.
For Victor, the transition felt incredibly natural and organic. He had been preparing himself for leadership from the beginning:
“When I got into the managerial role, I had already been building up my experience, researching how to become a good leader and I knew how to organise a team.”
Now, that same mindset developed in the intensity of Mandarin Oriental underpins his expanded role, as he applies his learnings across multiple teams, properties and clients.
Leading with care
Now managing multiple teams across different sites, Victor balances discipline with empathy. He is always clear about following Act-Clean’s policies, regularly meeting with his Supervisors and ensuring expectations are understood. But structure and discipline is only half the story.

What sets him apart is the way he shoulders the personal challenges of his team, and aims to understand them: whether it’s stress with the commute, family worries or tiredness after long days, he reframes them with compassion.
“I take that on board first and try to be like a father to them. I really try to understand my people.”
That paternal approach has become his signature: motivating colleagues, steadying conflicts, and regularly reminding them why their work matters: a mindset shaped on a flagship luxury site, and now carried consistently across every team he leads.
Training on the floor
Victor is not the type of leader to stand back with a clipboard. He trains alongside his team, coaching in the moment and offering gentle corrections. If there are mistakes, his goal is always to guide rather than criticise.
As Site Manager, he developed his own personal framework of eight steps before beginning every shift: prepare, prevent, assess, decide, ensure, carry out, inform and monitor.

Now, as Operations Manager, he passes this structure on to the Supervisors he manages ensuring that the same standards he developed are embedded consistently across every site under his care.
Building trust with clients
Act-Clean handles some of London’s most prestigious establishments and that means trust is everything. Victor builds it daily through being present, proactive and respectful. He greets everyone he meets, checks in regularly with supervisors, and ensures Act-Clean’s work aligns with clients’ exacting standards.
“If something isn’t right, I make sure it’s done and give them an update before morning.”

That consistency has created not only trust but also a real sense of camaraderie, an approach honed in a world-class hotel environment, and now replicated across multiple high-profile client sites.
Guided by mentors
One person who shaped his career at Act-Clean is Mark Golding, Act-Clean’s Head of Operations:
“Whatever you share with him, the good or the bad, he really takes the time to consider it, takes it as a growth opportunity and explains his thinking.”
Victor also credits his previous manager, Frank Odia, with showing him the importance of leading by example.
Together, they have shaped a leadership style that he now carries across his growing portfolio of sites.
Looking ahead
Three years on from his first shift, Victor has gone from a new starter to an Operations Manager responsible for teams across London.
“I’m looking forward to Act-Clean growing as a business and being a part of that.”
For someone who began as a night cleaner and now leads across multiple sites, the journey is already remarkable. But Victor’s story is also proof of something bigger: that growth at Act-Clean is built on heart, humility, and leaders who take what they learn and pass it onto their teams. Continuing the pride in service and exceptional standards throughout every venue and team, from one exceptional environment into many.
Act-Clean truly your #teamwithintheteam
