In a field where eco-credentials can be more style than substance, our partnership with Sybron is a values-driven decision we’re proud of.
We work hard to protect our team and our environment and are therefore continually assessing our supply chain and processes to ensure we minimise our carbon and environmental impact.
It is important to us to offer ecological chemicals that adhere to client guidelines and are deemed acceptable by ourselves. And because we operate in our client’s environments, our client’s guidelines and aims are our responsibility too, which means meeting sustainability targets is a fully collaborative effort.
We discovered that with Sybron, we share a commitment to long-term responsibility, product performance and measurable environmental impact.
From Sybron’s carbon-neutral status and accreditations to its pioneering SyBio biotechnology cleaning range, our collaboration ensures our cleaning team can continually meet the highest standards whilst minimising environmental harm.
It’s a partnership that proves effective cleaning and genuine sustainability can and should go hand in hand.
It is important that the products we use at Act-Clean are effective. So, with this top of mind, Sybron offers the perfect balance between effectiveness and sustainability.”
Mark Golding, Head of Operations at Act-Clean

Why Sybron?
Sybron’s approach to sustainability goes far beyond token gestures. Every initiative is backed by credible accreditation, measurable action, and a clear roadmap for future progress. From achieving carbon neutrality to innovating with biotechnology-based cleaning solutions, their efforts reflect a genuine commitment to protecting the planet without compromising on performance.
Everything we supply goes in the bin or down the drain, so we have a responsibility to ensure those products are doing the least damage possible to the planet – while still ensuring they are effective for all operatives using them and maintaining the 5-star standards for clients. We have developed our own natural range, SyBio, which includes an enzyme that reacts with bacteria to naturally break down dirt, grease and odours.”
Chris Henwood, Business Development Director at Sybron

This commitment speaks directly to Act-Clean’s values: protecting people, the planet and delivering service excellence.
Sybron’s sustainability credentials
Sybron’s sustainability commitments are backed by recognised standards and measurable action.
Sybron is the first commercial cleaning distributor in the UK to earn ECOCERT Ecodetergents accreditation for its SyBio product range. They’re also Planet Mark certified, use FSC-approved paper products, work with CHSA-accredited manufacturers, and recycle all plastics and cardboard from their warehouse. Delivery routes are also carefully planned to cut unnecessary travel and reduce CO₂.
They prioritise sustainability through:
- Innovative, sustainable products
The SyBio range, launched in 2022, uses natural enzymes and probiotics instead of harsh chemicals. These plant and bio-based ingredients break down dirt, grease, and odours effectively, while leaving a layer of “good bacteria” on surfaces for up to 30 days to maintain hygiene and reduce the need for toxic cleaners. SyBio products are also highly concentrated and consequently, they last longer, cutting costs by up to 20% and utilise far less plastic packaging.

- Carbon neutral certification
Sybron is officially certified as a carbon neutral business. Everything they do has been measured, greenhouse gas emissions reduced where possible, and balanced out through approved carbon offset projects.
- Being on the road to net zero
Becoming carbon neutral is just the first step. Sybron has a clear plan to reach net-zero emissions, which includes installing solar panels, switching to electric vehicles, and making their delivery network more sustainable.
In partnering with Sybron, we’ve aligned ourselves with a company whose values, innovations, and actions mirror our own.
“This isn’t just about the products we use; it’s about the standards we set, the impact we have, and the responsibility we share for the world around us. Together, we’re proving that exceptional cleaning can be delivered with care for both people and the planet.”
Mark Golding, Head of Operations at Act-Clean
