We sat down with Famous Ehiogie, one of our Day Operations Managers, who has been part of the Act-Clean team for over five years. Managing kitchen porters and day cleaners across multiple sites in London, Famous shared what it takes to lead a team, how he ensures exceptional service for our clients and what makes Act-Clean stand out.
“No day is the same and that’s what I love about it”
With a role that spans across six to seven sites, Famous starts each day with a plan, but in hospitality, flexibility is key.
“Every day brings new challenges and I’m always excited to face them head on”, he explains.
His approach is to identify “hotspot” locations that need particular attention, whether due to client feedback or specific requests. “I prioritise these sites, visit them first, meet with clients, and make sure their expectations are met.”
At the core of Famous’ role is ensuring that all staff have clear communication on what needs to be done to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and service.
“I lead by example”
For Famous, the key to running a successful team is setting the standard himself. “Our team is everything. Without them, there’s little we can do. That’s why I always lead by example.”
He believes in open, honest communication, making sure his team understands just how valuable they are to both Act-Clean and its clients.
“I always try to recognise their hard work, whether through appreciation, frequent one-to-ones, or just taking the time to check in with them.” By maintaining a strong culture of support, Famous makes sure his teams are motivated to go the extra mile.

Delivering consistent quality across luxury hotels, restaurants and private members’ clubs means having robust systems in place.
“For every site, we create a bespoke cleaning schedule”, Famous explains.
Each schedule is tailored to the venue’s unique requirements, detailing what tasks need to be completed, how often and the safest, most effective way to carry them out.
Beyond the cleaning schedules, health and safety is a non-negotiable priority. “We have strict policies in place to ensure the safety of our staff, our clients and their guests”, he adds.
This includes:
- Ongoing staff training to recognise and report potential hazards
- Regular risk assessments to ensure safe working conditions
- Periodic fire safety training to maintain compliance and best practice
